🎼 🎤 Thom Shepherd — Songwriter Bio
Thom Shepherd is a veteran Nashville hitmaker whose songs have become staples of modern country music. A longtime presence on Music Row, he’s written multiple chart-topping hits including “Redneck Yacht Club” (recorded by Craig Morgan) and “Riding with Private Malone” (recorded by David Ball), both widely recognized for their storytelling and emotional impact.
Over the course of his career, Shepherd has written five #1 songs, earned Grammy nominations, and had 100+ songs recorded by major artists including Blake Shelton, George Jones, Montgomery Gentry, and many more.
Originally from St. Louis, he moved to Nashville in the early ’90s to pursue songwriting and quickly built a reputation for crafting songs that connect deeply with listeners—from fun, laid-back anthems to powerful, emotional stories that resonate with military families and country fans alike.
Today, Thom continues to write, perform, and connect with audiences through intimate songwriter-style shows and full-band performances, often sharing the stories behind the hits. Alongside his wife, singer-songwriter Coley McCabe, he brings a mix of humor, heart, and authenticity to every stage.
